Seam strength, seam elongation and comfort are all necessary for knitted sweaters. Our comprehensive selection of threads for knitwear meets these requirements. A polyester corespun thread is recommended, but sometimes on wool or cotton garments, there is a requirement for the sewing thread used in creating Cut & Sew knitwear to be done with a sewing thread that does not have as much lustre. When this is the case, a polyester/cotton sewing thread can be substituted in the corresponding tex sizes. Approximate thread consumption is 50 metres. Depending on required final quality, alternative thread types may be used. Thread size will determine needle size.
